Luxor square named after Shaikh Khalifa

A major square in Luxor, Egypt, has been named after the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Dr Sultan bin Ahmed Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State, said the move reflects the high regard of the Egyptian people for the UAE, His Highness the Head of State and the role played by the country in achieving stability and development in Egypt.

Major-General Tariq Saad Eddin, the Governor of Luxor Province, said one of the largest squares in Luxor has been named after Shaikh Khalifa due to “popular demand”, in recognition of the historical stance of the UAE in support of Egypt.
