Instead of frowning, flyers will now revel in case fares of their tickets booked through Google Flights drop because the difference will be refunded to them.
According to reports in The Sun, Google announced their new feature will not only offer extra insight into the price of flights but will also guarantee the price for selected flights. The announcement was made in a blog post through which Google said:
"When we predict the price won't decrease for select itineraries booked between August 13 and September 2, we'll guarantee the price won't drop, and we'll refund you the difference if it does. "
Google already shows whether prices for a flight route are high, low or typical.
Going further it said in the blog: "Starting today you may see the same insights for your exact itinerary. Plus, for some flights we'll show how the price has changed over the past few months and notify you when we predict the price may go up soon or won't get any lower."
Currently, the feature is only for journeys starting in the US. Earlier this year, Google launched a new hotel comparison feature to make finding hotels easier. It shows a selection of properties and tells which ones are cheapest - as well as most discounted - for the time period you're booking.
