 The Dubai Police have designed, and will introduce 20 new radars that can spot and record hard shoulder violations. The radar has video cameras and sound directors and will help catch arrogant drivers, said Major-General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police.
He said hard shoulder violations have a negative impact as drivers speed and drive on areas parallel to the yellow which could result in collision with parked cars. It could also obstruct traffic.The new device made by the Dubai Police, can be placed in areas that witness high traffic violations.
Hard shoulder violations face penalty which includes confiscation of the car for a month, fine of Dh600 and black points. Maj-Gen Al Mazeina said the new device suits the UAE climate. He ordered the police officials to manufacture 20 similar radars and distribute them.
