Paid parking in two more Tourist Club sectors
Two more sectors in the Tourist Club area will come under Mawaqif parking management on July 8, announced the Department of Transport on Monday.
One zone, having 1,362 parking spaces, is located between Al Mina Road, Zayed the Second Street and Al Ferdous Street. The other is situated between Corniche Road, Al Ferdous Street, Al Mina Road and Salam Street, providing 178 spaces.
According to the Mawaqif policy, parking fees will apply from 8am to 10pm, Saturday to Thursday, except on official holidays.
Hourly rates are Dh2 for standard parking (at blue and black curbs) and Dh3 for premium parking (at blue and white curbs).
Full-day standard parking costs Dh15, and premium parking is limited to four hours.
Residents in the new sectors may apply for up to two parking permits per household, at Dh800 for the first vehicle and Dh1,200 for the second.
Residential parking permits are sector- and vehicle-specific.
