Motorists fined Dh500, 4 black points for driving with unfit tyres in UAE

As many as 5,913 motorists were fined this year for driving their vehicles with unfit tyres, the Abu Dhabi Police said on Monday.
The traffic and patrols directorate at the directorate general of central operations at the Abu Dhabi Police, warned that the traffic safety violation can result in Dh500, four traffic points and the confiscation of the vehicle for a period of one week.
The police urged motorists to examine their vehicles tyres, air pressure and to ensure their safety is passed and regulated, stressing that any damages or cracks can lead to serious traffic accidents, resulting in severe injuries and even death.
Police stressed that driving with unfit tyres can be especially dangerous during the summer season.
