Free parking in Sharjah and Ajman

As part of the “Spirit of the Union” celebrations, free parking will be offered in Ajman and Sharjah.

The announcement, made by the respective municipalities on Wednesday, is part of ongoing celebrations of the 41st National Day. Free parking for vehicles will be on December 2 and 3.

Speaking to Khaleej Times, Yahya Al Reyasa, Director-General of Ajman Municipality, said the parking section provides comprehensive services for the customers in the emirate including hourly, monthly and annual prepaid parking cards and services of rented parking.

The municipality is keen to participate with all sectors of society during celerbrations of national, social, cultural and religius occasions, and aims to ensure that a peaceful and pleasent atmosphere is maintained for the residents, he said.

Sharjah Municipality also said it extends facilities to the community during festivals like Eid and National Day. Officials urged residents and visitors to comply with the traffic law and not misuse the parking spaces during the free parking period.

An official said usual parking charges are Dh1 for one hour, Dh3 for two hours, Dh5 for three hours, and Dh12 for five hours and added that the municipality has installed more than 100 parking machines in Sharjah.
