The practice causes inconvenience to the public and annoys the users of municipality’s paid parking areas.

Speaking to Khaleej Times, Sultan Al Mualla, Director-General of the municipality, said the move aims at ending any illegal practices carried out by workers who are living illegally in the UAE.

The inspection was conducted in Al Shuwaiheen, Al Qasimia and other parts of the city.

The municipality would summon the sponsors of the legal workers who indulge in such practices after their working hours, to sign a written undertaking that they would not allow their workers to carry out such activities. The illegal workers would be sent to the detention centre in coordination with the police and the Department of Residency and Immigration. The inspection campaign targeting illegal activities would continue.
