Dubai Municipality has recently accomplished a new smart project in collaboration with Nokia to help users of the Dubai roadmap to discover nearby facilities and buildings, said Abdullah Rafia, Assistant Director-General of Dubai Municipality.

“The project comes as a result of the agreement between the civic body and Nokia to provide improved services for residents and visitors to Dubai, which allows users of the Nokia location app to find any facilities available on both sides of the roads, such as petrol stations, buildings, mosques, pharmacies and much more,” Rafia said.

“The real pictures taken using the new satellite technology of Nokia will be added to the Dubai roadmap which will be later integrated with ‘Makani’, DM’s recently introduced most advanced addressing system,” he explained.

“Dubai is the first city in the middle east that uses the surroundings’ pictures with road maps. The app can be downloaded from Nokia and Samsung stores,” he said.

“We would like to provide all types of comfort and ease to the residents and tourists in line with the vision of the civic body,” he added.
