A smart disinfection gate where all passengers go through to ensure that they are free from symptoms of coronavirus has been installed at the Abu Dhabi main bus terminal.
The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) in Abu Dhabi said on Tuesday that it has installed the disinfection gate at the entrance of Abu Dhabi main bus station.

The gate detects entering passengers and sprays sterilising materials automatically to ensure the public's safety. It operates every day from 6pm to 8pm and is sterilised and cleaned regularly by a specialised team
ITC said that it will soon install similar gates at all of the main bus stations in the emirate of Abu Dhabi to ensure optimal sterilisation and maintain the safety of the public.
The centre said it has taken a number of precautionary steps since the outbreak of coronavirus, including the extensive cleaning and sterilisation of the public transport modes.
It has shown active participation in the national disinfection programme announced by the Ministry of Health Prevention and the Ministry of Interior.
