“Amassing of heavy trucks near residential neighbourhoods causes inconvenience to the local populace, pollutes the environment and poses a threat to the inhabitants,” read a statement issued by the ADM. Through the campaign, the municipality also hopes to maintain the area’s appearance and to prevent accidents and excess traffic on residential streets.
After monitoring the situation, the ADM reached out to bus and truck drivers and advised them not to park in the Al Samha neighbourhood. The municipality also put up warning signs where buses and trucks are commonly parked and has enlisted Abu Dhabi Police to forcibly remove any heavy vehicles in the area.— news@khaleejtimes.com
