Al Salam Street tunnel opens today
Al Salam Street tunnel stretching from the Al Salam Street Interchange-Hazaa bin Zayed Street ahead to Al Mina Street is due to open today.
The 3.6km-long tunnel is a key artery that links most of the vital areas in Abu Dhabi. It has eight lanes in each direction and includes smart traffic systems to monitor any traffic congestion that might occur in the tunnel.
Giant monitor screens and cameras are put up along the tunnel to improve the operational ability of roads.
