Sai Nikhilesh Makes it Three in a Row in Table Tennis Tourney

DUBAI - G Sai Nikhilesh made it three in a row after winning the final of the 19th Al Sadiq Inter School Table Tennis Tournament on Thursday, organised by Al Sadiq Islamic English School, Dubai.

The tournament is sponsored by Yamaha and co-sponsored by Ladies Corner Trading and Young Talents Cricket Academy.

Nikhilesh had won the tournament the previous two years. In the team event too, Nikhilesh was the star in the Indian High School’s win for the title against The Millennium School, Dubai.

Playing the first match, Indian High School’s Nikhilesh led from the front to win his first match against Millennium School’s Raveen Sajeev 11-6 11-6 11-6. But Rahul Kothari fought back well against Natun Das Gupta to give Millennium School the equaliser. He won 7-11 15-13 11-9 11-6.

With the doubles being the decider for the title, Sai Nikhilesh and Raghav Sharam displayed their prowess to oust Rahul Kothari and Raveen Sajeev 11-3 11-5 11-4.

In the individual championship for the Al Yousuf Cup, a confident Nikhilesh won the title without much fuss. He defeated his schoolmate Natun Das Gupta 11-3 11-3 11-2 in a one-sided final.
