Shine bright in Apple's Night mode photo contest

Dubai - Users of iPhone 11 line-up urged to submit photos that could end up in Apple's marketing materials

Just like last year, Apple is once again inviting its users to 'take a shot'. But this time, they want to keep the lights low.
The company announced its all-new Night mode photo challenge on Thursday, in which users are invited to share their images captured with the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max - all of which have Apple's latest advanced camera systems, with the Pro line donning the iPhone maker's first triple-lens snappers.
All iPhone 11 models feature a new wide sensor with 100 per cent Focus Pixels that enables Night mode, delivering low-light photos captured in indoor and outdoor environments never seen on an iPhone. This is in addition to an all-new ultra-wide camera, next-generation Smart HDR and upgraded Portrait mode.
The contest will run through January 29 and Apple will be scouring the world for the best shots. A panel of select judges will evaluate submissions and will reveal five winning photos on March 4.
The judges are bannered by Phil Schiller, Apple's senior vice-president for worldwide marketing, and Kaiann Drance, Apple's vice-president for worldwide product marketing. Joining them are Apple's Brooks Kraft, Jon McCormack and Arem Duplessis, along with photographers Malin Fezehai, Tyler Mitchell, Sarah Lee, Alexvi Li and Darren Soh.
The winning photos will be celebrated in a gallery on the Apple Newsroom, apple.com and Apple's Instagram account (@apple). They may also appear in digital campaigns, at Apple Stores, on billboards, or in a third-party photo exhibition.
Photos can be shared on Apple's Instagram and Twitter handles using the hashtags #ShotoniPhone and #NightmodeChallenge to participate in the challenge. Weibo users can participate using #ShotoniPhone# and #NightmodeChallenge#.
Contestants must submit which model was used to capture the image in the caption. The rest of the contest's details can be found on Apple's website.
