Looks like customers in America will be getting first crack at Samsung Electronics' newest upcoming flagship - and there's a big discount that goes along with it.
The South Korean titan has announced pre-orders for what is to be called the Galaxy S10 and S10+ on its US website, with deliveries by March 8.
And as an added bonus, Samsung is offering a discount of up to $550 (Dh2,020) on devices that are eligible for trade-in. No devices were mentioned, but it is most certain that the Galaxy Note9, which was launched in August, would fetch the highest discount.
As at Press time, pre-orders were being offered only in the US. No sign of it was on the UAE website, as well as in other major markets, including the UK and Australia.
Last month, an image of what seemed to be the S10 was seen on Samsung's own blog. The error was noticed and the picture replaced, but not before it spread like wildfire on the Internet.
The leak corroborated long-standing rumours that Samsung would do away with its upper bezel that houses the front camera system and replace it with a punch-hole design - a cut out just big enough to house the lenses - which would also allow it to extend the display all the way to the top for a true edge-to-edge design.
It is also possible that the S10 and S10+ would come with 1TB of internal storage, which would make it the smartphones with the biggest capacity by far.
Samsung will be unveiling the new devices on Wednesday. If tradition holds, a local launch event in the UAE is expected next week.
Another highly-anticipated device, the foldable smartphone being dubbed the Galaxy F teased in November, could make an appearance in the San Francisco event.
