The tech giant introduced the entry-level iPhone 11 and premium iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max at its yearly launch event at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park on September 10.
And the UAE, as always, is one of the first markets to receive the new devices.
Sulaiman, a Dubai resident hailing from Kerala, was first in line. He says he hasn't bought an iPhone in four years, and he's more than happy to queue up, mainly because of the iPhone's new camera system.
"I saw the features and they were very good... so I decided to buy a new iPhone in the craziest [way possible]", said Sulaiman, who started his vigil late afternoon of Thursday and has been using an iPhone 6 all this time.
Davron Akhundjanov, who is from Uzbekistan, was second in line. A user since the iPhone 4, he says he is very impressed with the battery life on the new iPhones; compared to its predecessors, the 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max promise up to four and five hours more power, respectively.
"iPhones are good. That's why I like to use it," added Akhundjanov, who was accompanied by his friend Nozim Sharipov.
The 11 Pro and Pro Max sport a triple-lens camera, the first time Apple has used such as system on its devices. The 11 Pro is going for Dh4,219 (64GB), Dh4,849 (256GB) and Dh5,699 (512GB), while the 11 Pro Max is selling for Dh4,639, Dh5,269 and Dh6,119. Apple's trade-in programme will also give customers the opportunity to own one for as low as Dh2,939.
Prices for the iPhone 11, meanwhile are Dh2,949 (64GB), Dh3,159 (128GB) and Dh3,579 (256GB). Of note: Compared to its predecessor, the iPhone XR, Apple lowered the prices for each iPhone 11 option by Dh230. You can fetch it for as low as Dh2,069 via trade-in.
Apple also started retailing Watch Series 5. The wearable's prices start at Dh1,599 for the GPS version, while the cellular model begins at Dh1,999. It once again comes in two sizes, 40mm and 44mm.
Consequently, Apple lowered prices for Watch Series 4; tags are now at Dh799 and Dh1,199, respectively.
