Google recently removed the free video calls app again.

A month after being reinstated, Google removed video-calling app ToTok from the Play Store again last week, however, the search giant did not provide any explanation then, Tech Crunch quoted NYT reports.

In December that the app was actually a spying tool to track users' conversations, location and social connections. Now, the Google store is flashing a message warning users to be wary of the app branding it a spy tool.

The pop up window says 'harmful app detected', and the warning reads: 'The app tries to spy on your personal data, such as SMS messages, photos, audio recordings, or call history'. It also has two options for users 'Open anyway' and 'uninstall'.

Following the speculations, the UAE's Telecommunications Regulatory Authority had previously issued a statement in December 2019, affirming that "UAE telecommunications regulations encompass strong Information security laws to prohibit any kind of data breach and unlawful interception".
