Before Apple's iPhone and Samsung's Galaxy phones were launched, the ultra-thin, flip phone Motorola Razr was quite a rage back in the early 2000s. Good news for foldable smartphone lovers, the Motorola Razr could make a comeback as early as next month, according to The Wall Street Journal.
According to NDTV, Motorola owner Lenovo and US telecom Verizon are planning to launch the revamped Motorola Razr in February. It is expected to have a $1,500 (Dh5,500 approx) price tag. However, both companies have yet to confirm this launch.
The Motorola Razr released in 2004 and was known as the Razr V3. It reportedly sold over 130 million units in four years. Back in 2011 and 2012, Motorola and Verizon released the Droid Razr which was the thinnest mobile phone in the world when it launched.
But it is said that this year a lot of foldable mobile phones will be launched in the market. Last week at CES (The International Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas, the world's first foldable smartphone, the Royole FlexPai was showcased. Samsung's Galaxy F is also expected to debut soon while several other companies are supposedly secretly working on their own foldable phones and devices.
