Any consumer electronics retailer worth their salt maintains a presence at every edition of Gitex Shopper. They attract more customers with attractive bundles and new offers every day. However, this year, a few companies are conspicuous by their absence at Gitex Shopper and are, instead, looking to draw customers with offers at their outlets through the course of the event.

This year, Plug Ins, which hitherto used to be an active exhibitor at every edition of Gitex Shopper, has abstained from participation and is, instead, encouraging buyers to shop online with a slogan: 'Save time, shop online'. Promising a 'crash in prices of electronics', the campaign runs from September 30 until October 8.

The Al Futtaim company claims up to 86 per cent savings on electronic products. Products with special discounts include laptops, cameras, smartphones, TVs, etc.

Carrefour has also come up with attractive offers during Gitex Shopper at its outlets across Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and Fujairah.

With the slogan 'All roads lead to Carrefour', the retailer is offering up to 35 per cent discount or savings on electronics products. Xiaomi smartphones are available at Carrefour with exclusive offers.

LuLu Group has also announced up to 40 per cent savings on different electronics products starting from October 1. Its sales promotion is called 'Digex 2016 Middle East'.

All key products in the electronics segment have up to 40 per cent savings and these include TVs, SLR cameras, tablets and mobile phones.

E-City is also not participating at Gitex Shopper this year. Lenovo used to participate with a big presence but is conspicuous by its absence this year. Asus has, instead, taken over its space.
