Facebook responds to DDos attack reports after it goes down

According to a message on the website, Facebook is down for 'required maintenance'.

Facebook and Instagram went down in UAE and other parts of the world including Europe and US as well. 

According to a report in the Mirror, the social media site is showing an error message, and is not allowing users to use it.
Facebook issued a statement on its official Twitter account that it is focused on working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, but can confirm that the issue is not related to a DDoS attack.
According to a message on the website, the site is down for 'required maintenance'. 

5,000 reports have been filed by the users complaining about the problem across the world, Downdetector showed.

 
Daily Mail reports that both Facebook and Instagram have been facing problems since afternoon and have resulted in a total blackout' in some of the cases.
