Apple has recalled its iPhone 11 in the UAE due to a problem with the model’s touchscreen.

The service campaign has been launched in coordination with the UAE’s Ministry of Economy.

“Apple has determined that a small percentage of iPhone 11 displays may stop responding to touch due to an issue with the display module. Affected devices were manufactured between November 2019 and May 2020,” the US company said.

It asked iPhone 11 customers whose device are exhibiting this problem to visit the referenced website and use the serial number checker to see if their device is eligible for this programme.

Apple said its customers will be provided service free of charge by the company and authorised service provider.

It said no other iPhone models are part of the service campaign.

Citing data from market research firm Omdia, GizmoChina reported that iPhone 11 was the most popular handset last year as 64.8 million units were shipped in 2020. The other top-selling iPhone models were iPhone SE (24.2 million), iPhone 12 (23.3 million), iPhone 12 Pro Max (16.8 million) and iPhone 12 Mini (14.8 million).
