Dubai's residents and tourists have one final chance to discover unbelievable prices on the very latest smart home gadgets designed to make life easier at GITEX Shopper 2018, the region's largest and longest-running consumer electronics spectacular. 
Across the 35,000 products on sale at GITEX Shopper, the key to controlling the vast array of future-proof technologies is a smartphone. GITEX Shopper 2018 has the latest offerings from Huawei, Honor, Apple and Samsung, among others - with the brand new Honor 8X launched at the show on the first day.
With more memory, more features and brighter screens, there are smart phones to suit every need - and there are hourly flash sales, bundle deals and offers aplenty across the show's 15,000 square metres.
Li Jing, Head of Product for Honor GCC, said: "We are showcasing the latest line-up of our portfolio. Our main focus at this GITEX Shopper is on the newly-launched Honor 8x, and for the first time we have an Honor stand displaying the complete range. Every Honor smartphone purchaser at GITEX Shopper will get premium giveaways, along with money back on their entry fee at our stand.
"The timing of GITEX Shopper couldn't have been any better as the launch of the Honor 8x coincided with the event's first day. All the hype created during the pre-booking campaign came into full effect during GITEX Shopper. Looking at the positive response during the show, we are excited to offer great promotions and surprises at our stand."
At the heart of every smart home are a new breed of Smart TVs. GITEX Shopper features an array of options, including an 85" Ultra HD 4K TV for the same price that a 75" might cost 12 months ago. There's also bargains on home theatre systems, with deals including a JBL soundbar at 40 per cent off high street prices, or 20 per cent discounts on Sony Surround Sound systems, with Dolby Atmos, when visitors buy grab a 55" TV from UAE retailer Jumbo. There's even state-of-the-art wireless routers, home thermostat systems, internet connectivity solutions and cameras for homeowners to record their smart home for security purposes.
On Thursday, the Virgin Radio competition grand finale took place at the GITEX Shopper 2018 with 24-year-old Arian Ajdari winning the Ultimate Smart Home prize valued at Dh40,000. Having won a range of gadgets such as a Smart TV, iPhone XS, Arlo Q, Ecobee Smart Thermostat, Macbook Air, Playstation Pro and more, Arian was speechless: "I've grown up in Dubai and visit GITEX Shopper every year as there are always a lot of great deals! In life, you experience a lot of things and buy a lot however to win something so big like I did today is an overwhelming, unique experience!"
With thousands of products available at heavily discounted prices, there's a host of bundle offers, local bank promotions and payment plans. Local powerhouse retailers such as EMAX, Jacky's Electronics, Jumbo and SharafDG all offer installation advice and services, too.
Hesham Ali, a resident of Dubai - leaving the halls with an enormous Nikai UHD Smart TV - said: "We came specifically for this TV deal. I haven't seen it as cheap anywhere else, and we are delighted with the purchase. It's very good to show the purchase receipt and get free parking, too." Jacky's is offering deals on Nikai Smart TVs from 40" at Dh749 to a 55" UHD model for Dh1,499.
Meanwhile Reema Nair and her mother, who live in Sharjah, had travelled to GITEX Shopper to pick up new phones. Reema said: "We visited for the new iPhone and ended up taking the Honor 8X home. We got it with a smart scale, which will be great for me as I'm trying to get fit. We also bought a one terabyte external hard disk drive, and some new headphones. My mother enjoyed the food trucks. It's been a great way to spend a couple of hours!"
Visitors scouring the GITEX Shopper halls for the best bargains can also take advantage of the Tech Radar 'techsperts' in the Xperience Zone. These experts are on hand to offer one-on-one advice about all the latest equipment available at the show, whilst also delivering tech talks about everything from home networking to switching mobile phones.
Focused on Learning
Camera fans can visit the Nikon Photography School, where from 1pm-9pm each day they can take part in free live learning sessions, delivered by Nikon experts, on everything from appreciating photography, taking fashion shots and astro photography.

Visitors can also head to the Xperience Zone's Unboxing Studio to watch tech experts unboxing some of the latest gadgets - from smartphones to laptops, while streaming their shows live to the internet.

GITEX Shopper 2018 is open daily from 11am - 11pm. Tickets are priced at Dh20, a reduction on last year. Students enter for Dh10. Entry is free for children under five.
