For over three decades, Dubai has been my home, and I will always stand by this extraordinary city. Even in challenging times like these, I continue to feel safe and secure. We have faced crises before, from the 2008 financial downturn to Covid-19, and each time UAE has emerged stronger. Resilience is not just a quality here, it is part of the country's DNA.
I have seen some negativity and unnecessary concern being circulated, and I want to address this directly. Dubai remains one of the safest cities in the world and will continue to be so. At the same time, no country is completely immune to global or regional developments. What matters is how a nation responds, and in this regard, the UAE leadership has once again demonstrated strong control and clarity.
The situation is being handled with efficiency and preparedness. Security systems are active, threats are being intercepted, and there is a clear sense of stability. On the ground, daily life continues without disruption. Public transport, including metros, buses and taxis, also the businesses are operating as normal. Essential services such as supermarkets, restaurants and hospitals are functioning round the clock, ensuring continuity for all residents.
This country has given a home to millions of expatriates, including myself, and in times like these, it becomes even more important to stand united. There is a strong sense of trust, responsibility and community across the UAE.
At Danube Group, we believe in supporting the nation beyond words. We accommodated more than 600 stranded individuals in our buildings and in hotels, and we will continue to extend support to all those in need. This is our way of contributing to the wider efforts led by the government.
From a business perspective, the current situation appears to be impacting sentiment more than fundamentals. It would be premature to draw long-term conclusions. Dubai’s economic foundations remain strong, and I remain confident in a steady and sustainable path of growth ahead.
Dubai has consistently proven its ability to navigate challenges and emerge stronger, and I see no reason why this time will be any different.
