In Hiroshima, the city devastated by the first nuclear bomb, the biopic's Academy Awards success met a mixed reaction
On the occasion of the 50th Independence/National Day of Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Association UAE extends its sincere compliments and wishes of peace, progress and prosperity to the leaders and citizens of our great nation.
We look forward to a vibrant future of success, advancement and development by the means of friendship and strategic partnership between the two countries. Long live Bangladesh and UAE.
I am fully confident, with the great efforts of the visionary leadership of our government, we will soon overcome the adversities and continue to march towards peace, progress and prosperity and further strengthen the relationship between UAE and Bangladesh.
Bangladesh is a country of development role model, recognised by global leaders and advised others to follow for prosperity and success.
Bangladesh has demonstrated strong economic fundamentals with a consistent GDP growth rate of above 6 per cent over the last ten years and a fabulous figure of 8.2 per cent in 2019. Despite the pandemic, a healthy growth rate of 5.2 per cent in 2020 and a further sharp recovery to 6.8 per cent, shows the underlying strength of the economy.
Moreover, the ease of doing business and cost-effectiveness makes Bangladesh a favourite destination among the 28 South Asian Cities.
Establishing Economic Zones in Bangladesh has been a historic initiative of the present government. Hon'ble Prime Minister of the People's Republic of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina has taken this commendable initiative for materialising the dream of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to create 'Sonar Bangla. 'Vision 2021 is nothing but the resurrection of the dream 'Sonar Bangla'. Bangladesh has already graduated from LDC to a developing country in March 2018.
The government has taken strong initiatives to formulate self-reliant legislation aimed at establishing economic zones in different areas. Projects for improving off-site infrastructure for setting up of government to government (G2G) Economic Zones with China, Japan and India have been adopted. Bangladesh is welcoming more countries to join the journey in mutual interest.
Finally, thanks and heartiest gratitude to all the members of Bangladesh Association UAE (Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Fujairah) and the Bangladesh community residing in the UAE for their continuous support to strengthen our economy for building 'Sonar Bangla'.
In addition, requesting all the Bangladeshi expatriates to respect the rules and regulations of the UAE to brighten our image.
In the end, as a responsible resident, we all shall follow and guide others also to follow the precautionary guidelines set by the authorities in the UAE to help control the spread of Covid-19 and stay safe at all times.
