On the occasion of India’s Republic Day, LuLu Group India reaffirmed its long-standing commit-ment to India’s growth story by announcing major new investments across key states, strengthen-ing its presence in retail as well as food processing and exports.

As part of its expansion strategy, LuLu will set up shopping malls and logistics centres in Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat, while adding new hypermarkets and Express Stores in Tamil Nadu, Karna-taka, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana supporting employment generation and deeper trade linkages through food exports to international markets including the GCC.

In a significant step, Yusuffali M.A., Chairman of LuLu Group, signed an agreement with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, to establish multiple projects in the state. These include a mega shopping mall in Visakhapatnam, a food sourcing and export centre in Vijayawada, and a food-processing logistics and export hub in Rayalaseema.

The MoU was signed at the 30th CII Partnership Summit held in Visakhapatnam in November 2025. During the signing ceremony, Yusuffali said construction of the LuLu Mall in Visakhapatnam would begin shortly, positioning it among the largest retail developments in the state. The mall is planned to open in three years and is expected to create 5,000 direct jobs, along with 12,000 in-direct employment opportunities.

LuLu’s proposed new food processing and export hub in Vijayawada will process and export of mango pulp, guava pulp and processed spices under the LuLu label. The project is expected to bring significant benefits to farmers by enabling value-added processing and by expanding agri-cultural exports to GCC markets and Egypt.

The planned export hub is part of LuLu’s broader plan to strengthen farmer support systems, cre-ate new economic opportunities and provide improved market access for agricultural produce. In addition, a new food-processing logistics and export centre is also being planned in Rayalaseema. The Andhra Pradesh Government expects the facility to become a major export hub for the re-gion’s agricultural and processed food products.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu welcomed LuLu’s investments, describing them as an im-portant boost to Andhra Pradesh’s development journey. He referred to the upcoming Visakha-patnam mall as the “Navaratna” among LuLu’s projects in India. Visakhapatnam mall will be the group’s ninth mall in India, and the Chief Minister noted that the project would also serve as an experience centre while supporting tourism. He urged the group to target an early opening — six months ahead of schedule.

In Gujarat, LuLu has identified a proposed shopping mall location at Chandkheda, under the Gandhinagar parliamentary constituency. Located on the SP Ring Road, the site is expected to support LuLu’s upcoming shopping mall and hypermarket project and strengthen its regional presence.

In Tamil Nadu, two LuLu hypermarkets are expected to be ready by mid-2026 in Chennai. New Hypermarkets and Express Stores is also being finalized in Bengaluru, Lucknow, Noida and Gurugram.
