History
The BBC was formed on October 17, 2011, in Dubai with the authorisation of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai and the issuance of a permit from the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The Bangladesh Business Council is associated with the Bangladesh Consulate General, Dubai and the Embassy of Bangladesh in the UAE, to increase the import of various products from Bangladesh into the UAE and to re-export the same to the Middle Eastern and African countries. Currently, it is headed by Mohammed Mahtabur Rahman who is the Founder and President.
The BBC believes in working together to achieve more, and we believe in developing strong, mutually beneficial relationships between the Bangladeshi business community and the local communities within which it operates. To this end, it engages with regulatory bodies, and non-profit bodies, such as the Government of Dubai, Department of Economic Development - Dubai, and the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, on issues that are pertinent to its operations in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. It also engages with government and non-government organisations from Bangladesh in order to explore opportunities for mutually beneficial relationships.
