Walter Zenga, the man that enjoys a special connection with the UAE, sent out a message to the country to remain safe and fit amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
The legendary Italian goalkeeper who had coaching stints at four UAE clubs (Al Ain, Al Zazira, Al Nasr and Al Shaab) backed the Dubai's Sports Council 'Be Fit, Be Safe' campaign on Monday.
Launched last month to encourage people to do regular exercises at home at the time of social distancing, the Be Fit, Be Safe campaign has already been a resounding success with scores of people sharing their workout videos on social media.

Over 750 people participated in the recent 'home' marathon that was organized as part of the campaign.
And one of the biggest ingredients of this success story was the DSC's efforts to rope in legendary footballers to support their initiative to inspire people to remain healthy and boost their immunity.
In Zenga -- a three-time winner of the IFFHS's World's Best Goalkeeper of the Year award and one of the biggest stars in the 1990 Italia World Cup -- the Dubai Sports Council found a man who epitomised safety under the crossbar.
"Hi, I am Walter Zenga, This is a message for all my friends in Dubai and the UAE. Take care, and don't forget to train while you stay at home. Follow the rule of the authority, Let's all say, 'Be Fit, Be Safe'," the iconic Inter Milan shots-stopper said in a video message shared by the Dubai Sports Council on their social media platforms.
The current Cagliari coach joins Spanish legend Carles Puyol, Inter Milan legend Javier Zanetti, Portuguese icon Luis Figo, World Cup heroes Roberto Carlos of Brazil, Marco Materazzi of Italy, former Arsenal and Manchester City striker Nicolas Anelka of France, Manchester United great Ryan Giggs and legendary Italian referee Pierluigi Collina on the list of football's marquee names that have backed Dubai's beautiful initiative.
