UAE team ready for Asian Athletics Championship

A seven-member UAE team will take part in the 22nd Asian Athletics Championship in Bhubaneshwar, India, a Press release said.

The four-day (July 6-July 9) championship is starting on Thursday. Harmeek Singh, founder and chairman of the Plan B Group, is the chief strategist for the UAE Athletics Federation.

Plan B is the federation's official partner.

The deal was signed by Singh and Saleh Mohamed Hassan, general secretary of UAE Athletics Federation and Ahmad Al Kamali, president of UAE Athletics Federation. "The UAE's national team comprising one female and six male participants, will take part in 11 competitions during the Asian Athletics Championship. This is an important leg of performance evaluation for our athletes and they require all the support the nation can provide," said Kamali.

"The UAE is a young but ambitious player in the global athletic scene. Plan B's strategic advisory skills, experience and knowledge of sports marketing adds an important, additional dimension," concluded the president of UAE Athletics Federation.

Singh will be accompanying the UAE team at the championship.

"This is an exciting time when private organizations are joining hands with government sectors to promote the UAE's aspirations across various fields globally," Singh said

"Increasingly, national entities like the Athletic Federation are opting for specialist guidance to reap long-term benefits and impact across international platforms. Plan b is honored and delighted to come onboard as the strategic partner of the federation and I am personally honored to accompany the UAE Athletics team and be a part of the nation's representation at the Asian Athletics Championship in Bhubaneswar," Singh added.
