The UAE have been on a roll on their tour of the Netherlands and they rounded it off by making a clean sweep of the four-match T20 International series on Thursday.
Having won the three T20Is by 13 runs, five wickets and 14 runs respectively, the UAE scripted a comprehensive seven-wicket win with two balls to spare in the fourth match at The Hague Cricket Ground in Voorburg.
With it being a dead rubber, the UAE rested captain Mohammad Naveed and all-rounder Rohan Mustafa.
Opting to take first strike, the Netherlands went on to post 150 for six following contributions from openers Max O'Dawd, Stephan Myburgh, captain Pieter Seelaar. Antonius Stall was the top scorer, remaining unbeaten on 28 from 16 balls, with three boundaries and a six.
Left-arm spinner Sultan Ahmed took two for 29.
The UAE were dealt an early blow after Zawar Farid, pushed up to open the batting, fell cheaply. But there was to be no further hiccups as opener Ashfaq Ahmed and Ghulam Shabbir put on 111 runs to take the match away from the Netherlands.
Ahmed clubbed 75 from 53 deliveries with 11 boundaries and two sixes, while Shabbir made his maiden half-century, a 54-ball 58 with the help of seven boundaries.
Brief scores:
Netherlands: 150 for 6 in 20 overs (Antonius Staal 28 not out, Max O'Dowd 28, Pieter Seelaar 25, Stephan Myburgh 25, Sultan Ahmed 2-29) lost to UAE: 153-3 in 19.4 overs (Ashfaq Ahmed 75, Ghulam Shabbir 58 not out) by 7 wickets.
