The UAE Under-19 cricket team will be looking to continue their good form when they line-up for the semifinal of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Under-19 Western Region Tournament at the Dubai International Stadium on Wednesday.
The UAE colts take on Qatar, who finished second in Group B, for a place in Friday's final at the Dubai International Stadium.
The UAE boys have been in rollicking form, have strung together seven wins on the trot since early April. After qualifying for the Under-19 World Cup on the back of five victories in Malaysia, the UAE have proved to be too strong for their opponents, in their backyard.
The UAE colts have notched comprehensive wins over Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, with the latest being against Iran, to top Group A with six points.
And they have taken Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) National Development Manager Andrew Russell's advice quite seriously and haven't gone too ahead of themselves and have taken it one game at a time. And that has served the team quite well thus far.
Qatar, meanwhile, come into the game on the back of two wins and a loss, but will find it rather tough against a UAE side that has fired both with bat and ball.
The other semifinal pits Kuwait, who topped Group B, against Saudi Arabia, at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
The winners of the tournament will qualify for the ACC Under-19 Asia Cup to be held in Sri Lanka in July and August.
SEMIFINAL LINE-UP:
