Dubai - Scratch team player Sinar Suraj took the Orient Travel - Malaysia Truly Asia Monthly Stableford at the Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club on Friday with a superb score of 33 points in very hot summer conditions.
Suraj didn't let the warm and humid conditions faze him as he carded 19 points on the front side which included one birdie and six pars. The hot weather seemed to slow his progress a little but he still managed to add 14 more points to his card to take the title.
One behind on 32 was solid golfer Jaydeep Sarkar, who had a much better second half as he came back in 18 but the slow start put to bed his chances of any overall glory but could hold on to second place on a scorecard count back. It was also a close run race for the third spot but Mikko Hellman who had been pushed out of second position managed to beat the father and son duo of Max and Gary Hibbert by one point as they could only muster up 31 points each.
The gross prize on the day went to A.E Ravi with a round of 22 gross which was enough on the day as player struggled with the humid conditions.
The next event will be held on August 7.
