Spain won the major honours when Punti Dachs Jaume atop Twist Maison Blanche, and Luque Moral Alex, riding Calandria Ph. finished 1-2 at the 160km Longines FEI World Endurance Championship in Samorin, Slovakia, on Saturday.
Jaume and Twist Maison Blanche completed the event in 6 hours, 46 minutes and 42 seconds at a total average speed of 23.61km/hr.
Bahrain's Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad on Waterlea Dawn Treader finished third in the event where 136 entries including the UAE were not considered for qualification after being vetted out during, and after the race. In fact the UAE led for most part of the gruelling one-day event, mostly along the picturesque Danube river around Bratislava at the foot of the Little Carpathians mountain range.
Sixty teams completed the event with two entries retiring almost half way through the various loops.
