The absence of Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli and their star batsman AB de Villiers from the team in the home IPL tie against Delhi Daredevils on Saturday left their die-hard fans disappointed.
With the Jamaican southpaw Chris Gayle getting out cheaply for 6, the absence of Kohli and de Villiers was keenly felt as RCB could post only 157 for 8 in 20 overs after stand-in skipper Shane Watson won the toss and elected to bat.
Kohli, who sustained a shoulder injury while fielding in the third Test against Australia last month, has been out of action since then.
De Villiers, the South African batsman, has been struggling with back pain.
But fans believe their agony could soon be over as Kohli and De Villiers were seen practising at the pre-match nets session.
Tymal Mills, RCB's English fast bowler, also hinted on Friday that Kohli and de Villiers could be playing for the team in the upcoming league ties.
"AB is likely to play in the next home game against Mumbai Indians on April 14 and Kohli will lead the team once he recovers completely from the shoulder injury," a team official said.
"We miss the batting of Kohli and AB as both are great batsmen. Chris Gayle has yet to get into form, so the return of Kohli and AB will strengthen RCB's batting," said RCB fan Ravi Kumar.
