Rajeev Shukla to be BCCI interim president: Indian media

This comes as the current president Roger Binny will turn 70 on July 19

Rajeev Shukla is set to be the acting president of the Indian cricket board (BCCI), according to Indian media, quoting BCCI sources.

This comes as the current president Roger Binny will turn 70 on July 19, surpassing the age cap set out in the BCCI constitution.

The Indian cricket board will hold an Annual General Meeting in September, which means Shukla will hold the position of interim president for roughly 3 months, Indian media reported.

However, official confirmation is awaited from BCCI.

Shukla is BCCI vice-president and a former IPL chairman. Binny who was elected as BCCI president in 2022, was a member of India’s 1983 World Cup-winning team.
