PSV Eindhoven have sacked manager Mark van Bommel due to "recent disappointing results", the Dutch top-flight club said in a statement on Monday.
PSV, who were beaten 3-1 by rivals Feyenoord in the league on Sunday, are fourth in the table on 31 points, 10 fewer that first-placed Ajax Amsterdam, who are level on 41 with AZ Alkmaar in second.
Van Bommel, who has managed PSV since June last year, leaves after a run of six defeats, four draws and two wins in his last 12 games in all competitions.
