Dubai - Misbah is now the most successful Asian Test captain
MS Dhoni, Sourav Ganguly, Arjuna Ranatunga and Javed Miandad are among the best captains in cricket history.
All four of these Asian players played massive roles as captains of their teams - India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
But current Pakistan Test captain Misbah-ul Haq has now achieved something even the likes of Dhoni, Ganguly, Ranatunga and Miandad failed to achieve in their illustrious careers.
Pakistan's victory in the Test series against the West Indies in Abu Dhabi was Misbah's 10th series victory as captain of the team.
It's an highly impressive figure for a 42-year-old man who was made the captain at the age of 36.
Pakistan were trying to get back on track after the 2010 spot-fixing scandal and in Misbah they found a man with an unflappable temperament.
Misbah's calm approach, resolute batting and tactical acumen have helped Pakistan become a formidable team, especially in the UAE.
Their greatest Test victories, though, came in England this year when they drew the four-Test series 2-2 against England with Misbah leading from the front with a superb century in the first Test at Lord's.
But their 133-run win over the West Indies in Abu Dhabi today has now put Misbah above legendary captains like Miandad, Ranatunga, Ganguly and Dhoni.
Yes, Misbah-ul Haq is now the most successful Asian Test captain ever.
Dhoni (9) and Ganguly (9) are joint second on the list, while Ranatunga (8) and Miandad (8) are sharing the third spot.
It's indeed a very special moment for the unassuming cricketer.
