Waheed Ahmed blasted a fiery 164 and Yousuf Butt hammered 97 as hot favourites Global Distribution posted a resounding 192-run victory over HSBC in the 13th Dulsco Ramadan Cricket Tournament at the Zabeel Park Cricket Ground, Dubai, on Sunday night.
The tournament is organized by Dubai Cricket Council in association with Dulsco Sports Club. Total 16 teams are participating in the tournament and have been divided into four groups. All the matches will be played on a league-cum-knockout basis of 20 overs each.
Global Distribution amassed 286 for 2 highest score of the tournament in 18 overs riding on scintillating knock’s from Ahmed and Butt and then restricted HSBC to 94 for 9 to script their third consecutive victory. HSBC suffered their third straight loss to end the campaign on a disastrous note. Having already booked their place in the quarter-finals, Global Distribution looked like they were lacking in motivation after being reduced to 24 for 2 by the third over with Murtaza Ali (12) and Faizan Asif (0) perishing soon. However, the situation changed quickly with the arrival of Ahmed at the crease.
