Last year's Dubai tennis champion Roberto Bautista Agut has made a very good start to the new season, making the semifinals in his first tournament of the year before reaching the first Grand Slam quarterfinal of his career at the Australian Open last month
"I have played very good tennis at the start of the season. I played very well in Doha and the Australian Open. Now I want to keep this momentum in Dubai," the Spaniard said on Saturday.
"It's always special to play in Dubai. It's a very nice tournament. I think it was one of my best tournaments.
"It was very nice to win the final in straight sets against Lucas Pouille. I played very good tennis, especially in the final. My tennis was pretty solid in the whole tournament."
The Spaniard said he was motivated to play in the all new Davis Cup format in November this year.
"It will be very special to play the Davis Cup finals in Madrid. There will be a great atmosphere," the world number 18 said.
"I hope to be able to play for my country. It's not going to be easy because we have so many good players in Spain. So it's one of the goals for the season for me."
