Rory McIlroy will return to the Middle East this November chasing more than just another title - this time he has history firmly in his sights.
The reigning Masters Champion and five-time Major winner has confirmed his return to Yas Links for the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, taking place November 6–9, where he’ll tee it up in the first leg of the DP World Tour Play-Offs.

It’s the start of a two-week sprint that could see McIlroy clinch a record-equalling seventh Race to Dubai title.
The 2025 season has already been monumental for McIlroy. By capturing his long-awaited Green Jacket at Augusta, he became the first European ever to complete the career Grand Slam, adding it to his previous wins at the U.S. Open (2011), PGA Championships (2012, 2014), and The Open (2014).
Now, he sets his sights on another slice of history, a fourth consecutive Race to Dubai title, with momentum clearly on his side.
“I love ending the season in the Middle East,” McIlroy said. “I’ve started the year well and I’ve got a good record at Yas Links, so hopefully I can continue doing what I’m doing and give myself a chance of finishing the season strongly and having a shot of getting another Race to Dubai under my belt.”
Setting the Stage for a Showdown
Staged by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and DP World Tour, the tournament kicks off the Play-Off series and is the penultimate Rolex Series event on the calendar. Only the top 70 players in the Race to Dubai rankings will qualify to play in Abu Dhabi - a cut reserved for golf’s elite.

“We are proud to welcome Rory McIlroy, one of the sport’s greatest talents, to the 2025 edition.”
Yas Links, now in its fourth year as the tournament venue, is quickly becoming one of the most iconic stops on the global golf circuit. Last year’s dramatic edition saw England’s Paul Waring win his maiden Rolex Series title.

Tickets Now on Sale
Tickets for the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship are officially on sale, with general admission free for the first two days and discounted early bird pricing starting at just AED 50 for the weekend. Premium experiences, including the Bar on Nine and the Championship Chalet on the 18th green, are also available for fans seeking five-star hospitality.
The Championship Chalet includes air-conditioned luxury, panoramic views of the 18th, and world-class F&B offerings, starting from AED 1,680.
McIlroy’s presence will no doubt be a headline act, but with the top 70 players in the Race to Dubai battling for a spot in the top 50, and entry to the season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai - expect the stakes to be sky high.
