Jumeirah Golf Estates wrapped up its 2025 Jumeirah Pairs series in style as 70 members and guests gathered on the Earth Course for the final tournament of the year.

Played in a Pairs Shambles format from the composite tees for men and forward tees for ladies, the event once again delivered competitive yet social golf, bringing together players in the spirit of friendly rivalry and shared enjoyment that has defined the series throughout the year.

The honours on the day went to Alan McNamara and Steve Noon, who produced a superb round of 11-under-par net 61 to secure a narrow one-shot victory. Their strong teamwork and consistency across the round proved decisive in a tightly contested leaderboard.

Reflecting on the win, Steve Noon praised both his partner and the playing conditions.
“Alan and I played really well today. We both thoroughly enjoyed the Earth Course, which was in immaculate condition, as it has been all year,” he said.

“A big thank you to the Agronomy Team here at Jumeirah Golf Estates for their incredible efforts year-round to consistently deliver such high-end playing conditions.”

Finishing just one stroke behind in second place were Hash and Tara Kapadia, who posted an impressive 10-under-par net 62, showing excellent chemistry throughout their round. Pontus and Maximilian Fredriksson matched that score but had to settle for third following a back-nine countback.

In the Gross Division, honours went to Nicholas Whiteford and 2025 Club Champion Tom Stephenson, who combined superbly to post a six-under-par 66, the best gross score of the day.

Special on-course prizes added extra excitement, with Simon Bird claiming the Beat the Pro challenge on Hole 17, while Tom Neale collected both Nearest the Pin prizes on Holes 6 and 13.

Speaking at the prize presentation, Cameron McWhinnie, Assistant Golf Services Manager at Jumeirah Golf Estates, reflected on the success of the series:

“It’s been a fantastic year at Jumeirah Golf Estates, and the spirit the Monthly Jumeirah Pairs Tournaments have been played in really embodies everything we are most proud of at the Club - competitive golf played amongst friends who share a common passion for the game,” said McWhinnie.

The evening concluded with a buffet and presentation ceremony in the Ballroom, bringing the curtain down on another successful year for one of the club’s most popular monthly competitions.

Jumeirah Golf Estates thanked all members and guests for their continued support and looks ahead to welcoming players back for the return of the Jumeirah Pairs in the new year.
