The Golf Society League, supported by Golf Away, saw some standout performances on Sunday, 18 January, as Round 3 unfolded at Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club. With league standings starting to take shape, societies across all three divisions battled fiercely for points in another action-packed day of match play golf.
In League 1, The Grass Holes stole the show, defeating defending champions The Nepalese Golf Society in both matches to collect the maximum six points. Meanwhile, The Hole Seekers and The All Stars split their matches with one win each, and Al Puza narrowly beat Dubai Exputts with one win and a halved match to earn four points.
In League 2, it was a tightly contested affair, with Social Society 1 and Golf Linx 1 sharing honours by winning one match each and taking three points apiece. Sharjah Bunker Boyz strengthened their knockout hopes with a clean sweep over Kegs 1, bagging all six points.
League 3 saw Kegs 2 record one of the round’s strongest results, winning both matches against Golf Linx 2 to take six points, while Social 2 also enjoyed success, claiming both matches against Dubai Dragons 2.
The Betterball Stableford competition highlighted individual brilliance, with Shagir Mohammed and Sarath Eyyani of The All Stars claiming first place with 43 points, just ahead of Sami Butt and Ye Liu of Sharjah Bunker Boyz, who finished on 42 points.
With Round 3 now complete, all eyes turn to 8 February, as societies continue their push for knockout qualification and the ultimate prize: a Golf Away trip to Thailand.
