Imagine a school day that ends not just with homework, but with a swing on the golf course. This winter, that vision becomes a reality for students across the UAE, thanks to a groundbreaking collaboration between JAGA, ESM, and GEMS Education.

JAGA (Junior Asian Golf Academy), the elite golf training and boarding academy at Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club, is teaming up with the UAE’s leading sports service provider, ESM, and the country’s largest school network, GEMS, to create programs that combine sport, education, and personal development.

From beginner “White Belts” to elite “Brown and Black Belts,” the academy’s signature JAGA-WAY program mirrors a martial arts belt system, giving students clear milestones and goals. Achieving a black belt? It’s not just a badge of golf prowess; it’s a sign of college readiness.

“The JAGA-Way Belt Progression system and JAGA App, together, provide the platform for juniors to excel in the UAE, in line with other JAGA campuses (Canada, Thailand, Vietnam, India, and soon to be in South Africa and Taiwan),” said John Laroche, CEO of JAGA. “JAGA-Way has proven an effective tool in creating successful pathways for students who have the desire to play golf at the next level, socially, college golf scholarships, or professionally.”

Mark Brown, ESM Head of Operations, said ESM is thrilled to join forces with JAGA. “ESM is proud to welcome JAGA as an ESM Approved Provider,” he said. “JAGA shares our commitment to promoting sports and education in the UAE, and their expertise in golf will allow us to offer high-quality programmes and opportunities to the community.

“Together, we aim to inspire a lifelong love for the sport and create meaningful experiences for participants.”

General Abdullah AlHashmi, President of the Emirates Golf Federation, commented: “EGF is delighted to collaborate with JAGA-UAE, ESM, a renowned leader in sports services in the UAE, and GEMS, the leading education provider in the UAE.

“This collaboration will allow us to expand our reach and provide our expert golf programs and support to a wider audience, while contributing to the growth and development of golf in the UAE and beyond,” AlHashmi added.

The initiative isn’t just about improving golf skills; it’s about shaping the next generation of student-athletes and leaders. With mentorship, structured programs, and a strong focus on community engagement, JAGA, ESM, and GEMS are turning the UAE into a playground for both learning and athletic growth.
