Scotland’s Grant Forrest sealed his second DP World Tour title at Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeen, calling golf 'a crazy game' after a season-saving victory, capped by a congratulatory FaceTime from course owner and U.S. President Donald Trump.
“It’s a crazy game,” Forrest said, shaking his head in disbelief after lifting the Nexo Championship trophy on home turf at Trump International Golf Links.

The 32-year-old Scot’s second DP World Tour victory came in front of family, friends, and a raucous local crowd, and was followed by a FaceTime call from none other than the course’s owner, U.S. President Donald Trump.
Trump, calling from his course near Washington D.C., told Forrest, “I have very good players, but they’re not like you, Grant. We all watched you play. What a round of golf.
“That course is big, it’s strong and tough. Your swing is great. And it’s a great honour you won.” Trump said on the DP World Tour website.
Forrest’s win, sealed despite a double bogey on the 18th, vaulted him up the Race to Dubai rankings, secured his DP World Tour card for next season, and put him at the top of the Closing Swing Rankings with a shot at a $200,000 bonus if he stays there after next week’s Danish Golf Championship.
“It’s amazing, just speechless,” Forrest said. “One week can turn things around, and it sure has.
.Tough day today, didn't have my best at all, a lot of good par saves on the front nine, and I was pretty nervous down the last, but yeah, can't believe it.
"It's been such a tough year on the course; it's a crazy game that you can come out and do this,” he added.
"I was way down the rankings heading into this week, and while I had started to play a bit better, I was very much on the bubble.
"But one week can turn things around, and it sure has."
The victory came exactly four years after his first tour win at the 2021 Hero Open in St Andrews, further cementing his reputation for delivering big moments in Scotland. He also pocketed a $10,000 bonus for setting the course record, a six-under 66 on Friday.
Forrest now heads to Denmark with momentum, confidence, and the knowledge that in golf, fortunes can change fast.
