The event is open to all corporate companies clubs and private teams and its rules have been specially designed by former New Zealand international Dayle Hadlee, who added: “I believe the indoor game is now established the world over as a valid extension of cricket and brings excitement to this format.

“I am convinced that this is going to be an excellent event for everyone involved.”

Mohamed Lokhandwala, the honorary secretary of the DCC, commented: “The DCC is delighted to continue our partnership with the ICC GCA to offer both existing and new teams of the wider cricketing community a chance to participate in what promises to be an excellent summer indoor cricket tournament.

“DCC is committed to grow the game in Dubai. This tournament at this fantastic facility adds to the quality of cricket being played in the emirate.”

The contest is to be played in the air-conditioned, indoor facility at the ICC GCA. The winners shall will receive Dh3,000 plus a trophy, while the runner-up prize is Dh1,500 and a trophy.

“It's the first indoor Ramadan tournament to be played at ICC GCA and fits ideally with Dubai Sports City's vision of being the hub of sporting activity in the emirate,” explained Maqbal Dubhia, the general manager of Sports Business at Dubai Sports City.

This announcement came on the back of a trophy presentation for another recently-completed indoor competition, where winners Petromann and runners-up Danube Lions took home the main medals and trophies.
