Manipal University clinched the cricket title in the 22nd edition of the BITS Sports Festival 2025.
In the thrilling final, which needed a Super Over to decide the winner, Manipal University beat hosts BITS Pilani.
The inter-university tournament followed a knockout format, with Manipal defeating London American University, Heriot-Watt University, City University Ajman, and Middlesex University en route to the final, a press release said.
The 12-over final saw BITS Pilani bat first and score 155 all out in 11.3 overs. Nikunj Maheshwari scored a sparkling 55 off 22 balls and Kedar Kotak made 24 off 12.
Manipal’s Arsh Lucky, who claimed four wickets, while Hardik Pai and Pratham Mahale chipped in with two wickets and one wicket respectively.
In reply, captain Pratham struck a brilliant 59 off 23 balls as Vishnu Rajesh’s scored 37 off 23.

Needing 26 runs in the final over, Ayman Bijli’s late onslaught forced a Super Over. Manipal scored 15 runs and restricted BITS Pilani to seal the title.
Ayman Bijli, Hardik Pai, Rehan Sajith, Arsh Lucky, Sahil Shetty and skipper Pratham performed consistently for the victorious team in the tournament.
Indian cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar presented the trophy to the winners.
