India to resume IPL on May 17 after Pakistan ceasefire; revised schedule announced
The IPL 2025 was suspended after 58 matches, including the disrupted match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals

The Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket tournament, which was suspended for a week amid fighting between India and Pakistan, will resume on May 17 following the announcement of a ceasefire between the nuclear-armed neighbours, organisers said on Monday.
"After extensive consultations with government and security agencies, and with all the key stakeholders, the Board has decided to proceed with the remainder of the season," India's cricket board (BCCI) said in a statement.

The league will restart on 17 May and the final will take place on 3 June. The playoffs are scheduled as follows:
Qualifier 1 – May 29
Eliminator – May 30
Qualifier 2 – June 1
Final – June 3

India's cricket board had decided to suspend the Indian Premier League (IPL) T20 tournament for one week amid rising tensions between with Pakistan, BCCI said in a statement on May 9.
The IPL 2025 was suspended after 58 matches, including the disrupted match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals. A total of 16 matches are left to play including four playoff games.
Thursday's IPL match was abandoned midway after fighting began in India's border regions, but the cricket board attributed the disruption to a power failure at the stadium in the hill city of Dharamsala.
"Further updates regarding the new schedule and venues of the tournament will be announced in due course after a comprehensive assessment of the situation in consultation with relevant authorities and stakeholders," the BCCI added in its statement.
The world's richest cricket tournament began its current season on March 22, and the final fixture was scheduled to be played on May 25, with matches being spread over 13 venues across the country.
