Once again, Alexander Volkanovski finds himself in the eye of the storm following his victory over Max Holloway.
At UFC 245 and 251, judges awarded the contentious decisions in his favour.
While he faces the heat over the split decision win (47-48, 48-47, 48-47), the featherweight champion is convinced that he did well in the last three rounds.

"It was a tough one. His (Holloway) first two rounds were strong. He was way too relax and made good adjustments. It was hard for me to pull the trigger. It took me the third round to get things moving. It was a little bit closer out of the last three. We were confident that we got third round and obviously we took fourth and fifth. I showed what champions are made of. I am proud that I dug deep and got the job done," Volkanovski said after his victory at the UFC Fight Island in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.
The Australian said the takedowns and shots in the third round made the difference.
"Third one was pretty close. But when the scorecard was announced I was pretty sure we had got the last three. The judges also thought that way. I could have done better. But I still showed I am the best fighter in the world."
He also felt this encounter was better than UFC 245.
"This was closer than that (UFC 245). With back-to-back wins, I am happy to finish the chapter and move onto the next," he said.
Volkanovski is now open to taking anyone from the top five contenders in the division.
