Indian Consulate felicitates top junior tennis players
Top ranked Indian junior tennis players in UAE were felicitated for their performance through the 2017-18 season.

The Indian Consulate team chaired by Consul General of India, Vipul, felicitated top ranked Indian junior tennis players in UAE at a function held at the Indian Consulate in Dubai on Tuesday.
The function was also presided by Rahul Tulpule, a local businessman and tennis enthusiast.
The 2017-18 Tennis season concluded last week and the National Singles Rankings were released by UAE Tennis Federation. Rayan Koothrat (Boys U-12), Mehul Puthuran (Boys U-16), Karan Manghnani (Boys U-18) and Riya Mathroo (Girls U-14) were felicitated for being ranked No 1 in UAE in their respective age groups.
In a team competition, the Indian women's team for the Nation's Cup tournament was led by Rai Sengupta, Anaya Singh, Rhea Singh and Crystal Pereira (non-playing Captain) and they secured a bronze medal.
In the National Junior Team Championship, FuturePro Tennis Academy, brainchild of former Indian Fed Cup player Radhika Tulpule Kanitkar, won the gold.
Vipul applauded the efforts of the young players who are making their mark in the National and International circuit and highlighted the increased focus on sports that the Indian government is putting through various schemes and players and coaches' development camps and infrastructure.
An idea of developing a ranking points compatibility or transfer system between UAE and Indian Tennis Federation was also mooted which will allow the UAE-based Indian players to seamlessly play the National Circuit in India Tulpule also congratulated the UAE Tennis Federation for completing the full 2017/18 season with highest number of ranking tournaments and other team Championships.
