Al Junaibi powers Sarab to triumph

A superb effort by Rashed Hamoud Humaid Al Junaibi on 10-year-old gelding Sarab gave the Al Wathba Stables a dominating win in the Emirates Championship FEI CEI two-star 120-km Endurance Ride at the Emirates International Endurance Village, Al Wathba in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.
The Al Wathba Stables is owned by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE and Minister of Presidential Affairs, and Al Junaibi and Sarab completed the 120-km ride in 04hrs 11mins 45secs.
Ghaith Abdul Wahid Khamis Saqer on Deemah and Hamad Obaid Rashed Al Kaabi on Gheerulla Lamborghini completed a 1-2-3 sweep for the UAE while Morocco's Maha Khalid on Pelann finished fourth ahead of the UAE's Mohammed Ahmed Hassan Al Abbar on Sesame.
Al Junaibi and Sarab were placed second in the first two stages of 40kms and 35 kms each and then took the lead in the penultimate stage of 25 kms and maintained it in the final loop of 20kms to complete a comprehensive victory.
