Umar Amin hit a brilliant unbeaten 61 off 39 balls to guide Peshawar Zlami to seven-wicket victory over Lahore Qalandars in the fourth edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League match on Sunday night.
Peshawar overhauled the total in just 10.1 overs to register their second victory of the tournament so far. Earlier Qalandars were bowled out for just 77 runs and Zalmi faced raced to 81/3.
The left-hander Umar survived the early onslaught and then played some delightful strokes in his classical innings against Gerhardus Viljoen.
Shaheen Shah Afridi bowled Kamran Akmal (0) in the very first over with a beauty followed by wild celebrations.
Haris Rauf joined the party cleaning up Imamul Haq to ignite hopes of unlikely comeback in the match.
Earlier, Lahore were dismissed for a paltry 77, their second lowest score in the PSL. Despite hiring a number of top international players including AB de Villiers, Lahore Qalandars have failed to perform well in this PSL.
Hasan was the wrecker-in-chief as his 4-15 broke the back of Lahore.
The early departure of openers Fakhar Zaman (6) and Sohail Akhtar (6) left Lahore in deep trouble. Four of the first five wickets were grabbed by fit-again Hasan. Only three of Lahore batsmen reached double figures - Anton Devcich (18) the top scorer.
The Lahore owners and coaching staff have put in a lot of effort and money and there are still lot of hopes they will do well this year. But the way things are unraveling it looks the same old story.
It was such a dismal batting performance that none of Peshawar bowlers conceded more than 17 runs from four overs.
