The UAE will make their second appearance at the Under-19 cricket World Cup next year after a remarkable performance in the ICC Asia Division 1 qualifiers.
The UAE colts polished off Oman at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Thursday, to keep their unbeaten run intact.
Led by Aryan Lakra, the UAE won by a comprehensive 10 wickets in their final fixture to make it five wins on the bounce.
The UAE lads finished the six-team qualifiers on top of the table with 10 points to punch their ticket for the tournament to be held in South Africa in January and February next year.
The only other occasion when the UAE had featured in the Under-19 World Cup was in the 2014 edition, which was held at home.
The UAE had begun the qualifiers by defeating hosts Malaysia by five wickets and then went to beat Nepal by one run by the Duckworth-Lewis Method.
They then went on to beat Kuwait and Singapore by seven and nine wickets, respectively.
Lakra finished as the top wicket-taker with 13, with his 5-22 being the best bowling figures in the tournament. The southpaw also scored 120 runs with his highest score being the unbeaten 56 against Oman.
